“Doing the double” over a team, i.e. beating them in both the home and away league fixtures in a season, is a source of pride and bragging rights, but how often did each Premier League side manage it this season?

In the interactive graphic above we’ve sorted the Premier League teams in order of how many “doubles” they’ve done, with the number of times they were “doubled” used as a tie-breaker. As you might expect, the order isn’t too different to the final league table. Touching or hovering over each bar will show the individual teams and scorelines.

There were only two teams – Arsenal and Chelsea – who managed to avoid being “doubled” by anyone, and likewise two who failed to double anyone else: West Brom and Norwich. Champions Manchester City doubled over half of their opponents (10 out of 19) while relegated Fulham were doubled by almost half of the division.
